How is PocketLock attached to my pants?

Attaching PocketLock to your pants is easy. Attach once and enjoy it for years! PocketLock is designed to remain attached for as long as you like, and is suited for everyday use.

Simply turn your pants inside out, secure the two PocketLock strips, by peeling off the double sided tapes protective layer and firmly pressing PocketLock to your pocket.

Can I wash my pants in the washing machine?

Yes, the special tape is tough and can handle low-temperature washing.

The magnets that make up PocketLock are protected by an incredibly strong waterproof seal.

It is recommended to air dry your pants, but PocketLock can handle a dryer at low temperatures. We have done extensive testing, and PocketLock lives up to the test as long as you follow the care instructions.

Our care instructions are the same that is typically recommended for pants in general to preserve their color and longevity as well as the environment.

Is it safe around credit cards?

The short answer is yes! PocketLock is safe around modern credit cards with an EMV chip. Most credit cards today have this chip. We have tested this and consulted with experts. Older credit cards with magnetic stripes can potentially be damaged, so we recommend carrying them inside a wallet or thin pouch, although it is unlikely that they will be damaged due to the relatively low length of exposure time, strength of magnets and distances from magnets (there are layers of fabric in-between).

Will PocketLock set off metal detectors at airport security?

No, PocketLock does not trigger airport metal detectors, as these have minimal thresholds to avoid false alarms from small metal objects like belts and jewellery. The individual magnets used are too small to trigger any alarms.

We have tested this quite a lot with prototypes when traveling and have had no issues with airport metal detectors in various airports.

PocketLock is a great companion when traveling to ensure that your passport and phone does not get lost in airplane seats.

Will PocketLock fit different pocket sizes and styles?

Yes! It works best on pants with long pocket openings as this is where valuables mostly tends to fall out. PocketLock is designed to be versatile and can fit various pocket sizes and styles, ensuring compatibility with your favorite pants, or shorts. The only requirement is that you can access the inner side of the pocket by turning your pants inside out - most pants design are like this:)
Could also work for jeans, as long as the items that you want to protect can be inside the pocket (some jeans pockets are too small, so the phone will stick out)

Can I easily access my belongings with PocketLock?

Absolutely! PocketLock provides easy access to your items whenever you need them. Its magnetic mechanism allows for a quick and hassle-free retrieval of your valuables.

Is PocketLock durable and long-lasting?

PocketLock is built with high-quality materials to ensure durability and longevity. It is designed to withstand the rigours of daily use and even the washing machine at low temperatures. This makes sure that PocketLock can be reused on your next pair of pants.

How can PocketLock help to prevent pickpocketing?

During prototype testing we realized that PocketLock has the potential to prevent pickpocketing as you can feel if someone puts their hand in your pocket and tries to open Pocketlock. This alerts you so you will notice if a pickpocketing is happening. Furthermore, it is not easy for pickpocket thieves to see what you have in your pockets as the pocket is always closed by PocketLock.

Will PocketLock stick to my washing machine?

The short answer is no.

PocketLock has been frequently tested in washing machines, and it does not stick to the machine metal drum. The magnets are positioned to gravitate toward each other on each side of the pocket which ensures that it won’t stick to any other metal.

Can I use PocketLock on my jacket pocket?

Many people have shown interest in this. Initially, our main focus has been on "pants."

However, we also tested it with jackets. If a jacket has a reachable inside pocket, it works great. For those without, we're exploring solutions. Depending on the jacket style, we may need to tweak the product design slightly or create a dedicated version.

Soon, we'll send a survey to our backers to gather opinions on using PocketLock for other purposes. If there's strong demand for jackets, we'll seriously consider making it possible.

Can I sew PocketLock to my clothing?

Yes, if you prefer sewing, you can sew PocketLock onto your clothing, although the special fabric tape works very well and is a faster way to attach PocketLock.
