How to Adjust PocketLock for Better Closure Strength
Share
Before adjusting PocketLock:
- Make sure to read the guide "PocketLock does not close properly" to make sure that you have attached PocketLock correctly before considering adjusting PocketLock according to the guide below.
Possible causes for lower strength:
- If PocketLock is properly attached but is not closing securely, it may be due to thick pocket fabric, tight pants or very stiff fabric. PocketLock is designed for average pocket sizes.
Adjusting PocketLock:
- If Pocketlock doesn't close strongly enough due to the pockets being too thick or pants too tight, try positioning PocketLock 1-2 cm away from the inner edge of the pocket, where the fabric is typically thinner
- Note that this may slightly reduce pocket space, but most pockets should accommodate this adjustment
- Refer to the "guide on how to reuse PocketLock on new pants" for instructions on replacing the tape
- Refer to the instructional video "how to attach PocketLock", but instead of aligning PocketLock near with the inner side edge of the pocket opening, then align it 1-2 cm away from the inner side pocket edge. See animations below:
Normal alignment (from attachment guide)
New alignment. Adjust PocketLock 1-2 cm (0.4-0.8 inches) away from pocket edge
Note: PocketLock may not function effectively in very small pockets, which can limit the size of items that can fit. If PocketLock does not work well on a specific pair of pants we recommend to try it on a different type of pants and follow the “how can i reuse PocketLock” guide
