amazing idea. i hate zippers. i have MD so it is hard for me to use them and this solves that. it can also be used on pockets but i have not tried that yet.
The PocketLock is one of those small things that ends up being surprisingly useful. I use it mostly when I’m traveling or out walking, and it really does help keep my phone and keys from sliding out of slanted pockets—especially with pants that don't have zippers or buttons on the pockets.
It's super low-profile, so you barely notice it’s there once it’s installed. The magnetic closure holds well but still opens easily when you need to reach in. Installing it was straightforward with the included fabric tape, and I like that you can move it to other pants if needed.
If you’re tired of checking every five minutes to make sure your stuff hasn't fallen out of your pocket, this is a solid, easy fix. Just a smart, lightweight solution that does exactly what it promises.
The PocketLock is a game-changer for loose pockets. It keeps my phone and keys secure, whether I’m hiking, biking, or traveling. Easy to use, strong magnets, and no need to sew or stick anything. Totally worth it!
This was my second purchase. I got these first from Kickstarter and it is a really great product. I have used them on all my shorts and linen pants as they really useful! Works perfectly and are easy to install.
I can't believe that it has taken me so long to know that this invention exists -- it's honestly such a great idea!
I did find it a teensy bit difficult to attach and had to reread the directions a few times to figure out how to make it sit flush in my pocket. I also found that this works best on articles of clothing with really wide and/or deep pockets. For example, it doesn't work great for the pockets on my shorts, but it's amazing for the pockets on a few of my dresses that have really big pockets and are more on the flowy side of things
I ride a bike so if I'm not careful sometimes something can slide up and out, these fixed that though obviously it has to be something that actually fits your pocket in the first place. Super easy to attach, they stay in place, and just work as you'd hope.
I have a pair of casual baggy pants where the material is very slippery and my phone is CONSTANTLY falling out of the pocket when I sit down. I didn't even know such a pocket magnet existed so I jumped to order this and it works amazing! It comes in this nice box with spare tape and printed instructions. You can also scan the QR code to get a video of how to install the magnetic pieces which is honestly very simple. The magnets are strong and the adhesive stays on well (for now). I haven't washed the pants yet but I'm seriously so happy to have found this invention. You don't even notice that there's two magnet strips on the inside of the pocket area when wearing the pants! It's easy to open the magnetic seal to get whatever it is out of your pocket and then it seals again. The only downside is you can only use it for one pocket and if the adhesive isn't that sticky after use, you only have a set of tape that they give you. Otherwise, I'm not sure where you'd get more because I don't see any being sold on Amazon. At $28 for one Pocketlock, it is a bit steep in my opinion.
The PocketLock Magnetic Pocket Sealer is a fantastic, and unique idea. It's strong, durable, adheres well, and stays in place. It's also really protective, discreet, and secure - making it so that important items will not be able to fall out, or be taken out, of your pocket, unless you want them out. No more losing keys, phone (or breaking it), wallet, etc. Unfortunately, in order for it to work, it's attached with an adhesive strip/fabric tape on the magnet, that is applied to the pocket, which means it will only work for one pocket, in one pair of pants/shorts. It says it can be left on, even washed with it on, as well as removed, and reapplied to a different pocket simply by peeling it off, and applying new fabric tape to the magnets, and pocket. However, it only comes with one strip of their, "special fabric tape," so if you want to reuse the PocketLock Sealer, you have to buy more fabric tape elsewhere (and experiment with it to find which kind will work the best), otherwise you have to buy more PocketLock Sealers. For the price point (which is $28, at the time of this review), I would've hoped they'd include more adhesive/tape in the package to make it reusable, but they did not. Overall, I think the Magnetic Pocket Sealer is well made, and high quality, but until they include more tape, it's overpriced, and not reusable. I'd still recommend it, if you've only one pocket in particular to worry about though.
I got this PocketLock to keep my phone and keys safe in my pants pocket. I hike alot and since that requires alot of kneeling down and up occasionally, I always felt like my keys or phone would drop out. I didn't know about this item but, this exactly does what I needed for my shorts. It uses magnets to snap the pocket closed. It was easy to put on my shorts. if you just follow the instructinos.
Keep in mind you only get one lock in the pack. Most pants have two pockets so you might want to buy two.
I ordered these to put onto my oldest grandsons joggers. He was always losing his phone, cash, glasses, name it, out of those loose pockets. This product is so easy to use and handy. You "install" it onto the inside of the pockets and voila! no more open pocket. This is essentially a strip of good quality magnets on backing. It is washable, and reusable. Simply line up, attach adhesive to the inside of a clean pocket attach both sides and presto. It is closed. No zippers, buttons or lost items. The only drawback I see is that it is primarily for pants that have access to the pocket from the inside out. It is washable. It is removable and reusable if you decide to no longer use the original garment. I feel that for the quality of the magnets this is reasonably priced. It is one of those ingenious why didn't I think of that products.
This is a great product, and I got it for my husband who has one pair of shorts that keep spilling his keys and other whatnots whenever he sits down.
The good points:
1) It's clever, and solves a very real problem.
2) It's easy to install. There's a video to help.
3) It's durable and doesn't show signs of loosening in the laundry.
4) It's a definite pickpocket deterrent; no one is getting their hand past Pocketlock without being noticed!
5) Bonus: It also keeps a nice profile since his pants pockets aren't sitting out like elephant ears.
Now, the bad: And there's really only one. It's EXPENSIVE. Note that I said "it." It is a package of ONE. Now, tell me, how many guys have pockets on only one side of their pants? Come on!
For this price, there should be at least TWO pocketlocks in the package! That would still be a bit on the pricey side, but worth it. At $28 each, if you were to buy two pocketlocks, it would be cheaper to just go and buy new pants.
I thought these would be too heavy, but no, and they do work well. Having ruined an iphone down the toilet from a back pocket, I think these are great. Easy to install and extra adhesive tabs.
I'm using this pocket sealer on my favorite heavy canvas tote bag, which has a pocket on the outside that doesn't - didn't - have a closure. It works great! I usually keep my keys in that pocket, because the inner pockets get covered by whatever is in the tote bag. Now I don't have to panic if my tote bag tips over, I'm confident that my keys haven't fallen out.
The pocket sealer is strong enough to keep stuff inside the pocket, but easy to open when I want to get inside, so probably not an anti-theft device. However, I've never gotten pick-pocketed (I take precautions) but I have spilled my keys out of the tote pocket more than once. Now I don't have to fumble around trying to find a zipper tab.
The adhesive sticks well to much-used-but-recently-washed canvas. They even include four extra tapes in case I want to move the sealer or reuse it on another item. I only hand wash my tote, which matches the recommended care for this sealer (you can machine wash/dry on delicate/low but they recommend cleaning it gently.).
I'm delighted with this pocket sealer for use on my tote bag. The instructions say the magnets won't affect "modern" credit cards or magnetic strips, or electronic devices (such as phones), and I haven't tested that. I recommend this pocket sealer, within the limits of the description.
For someone who routinely loses valuable items from their front pockets, this is a really useful device. Having the security of closure saves money and pays for itself.
Easy to install, takes a few seconds. The instructions say that in 48 hours it will be permanent, but it was on pretty well from the start.
Comes in a small box with instructions and extra adhesives.
My wife and I travel a lot having just returned from a month in Europe. I am always concerned about pickpockets and have gone so far as to sew Velcro on many pockets on several pair of "traveling" pants and shorts. This item helps me avoid all that while keeping my valuables mine (instead of the pickpocket's). Easy, simple to use and it does the job. Not only would it be hard for a pickpocket to open but I would certainly feel it should they try. Quality product!
These are really nice and convenient magnet closures for clothing. They're sized for men's pant's pockets and probably work best for those, though they can also be used for other types of fabric.
This is a great product! I am doctor and run around in scrubs all day. I always loose my phone and keys when I sit down since the scrubs are so loose fitting. I installed these magnets in a set of my favorite scrubs (not the hospital ones of course) and it is a game changer!! I am also impressed with how well they keep in washing. Wash the scrubs often and they keep perfectly intact. Very happy!
I use this for closures on bags and purses. It’s easy to put on the fabric and project. I love having a bag automatically close and these magnets make that possible.
This actually worked great. Easy to read and follow the instructions. It took me five minutes to install on some very expensive designer shorts, and it locked my iPhone safely into my front pocket… but it was easy to break the seal and get it out instantly. For this low price point, I strongly recommend at least trying it out… There’s a real need for this because a lot of the nicer shorts and sports pants do not come with zippers.
Easy to install. I won't loose my keys while hiking anymore. Good comfortable protection.
If your everyday carry is valuable to you, do yourself a favour and secure those pockets with PocketLock.
PocketLocks allow me to wear my trackies again, and my valuables do not fall out of the pockets. They have also saved me time and money by preventing me from having to replace my mobile phone, keys, electronic fobs, wallet, and multiple cards.
PocketLock is easy to apply, and securely fastens pockets, preventing valuables from falling out, saving time and money on lost items.
My favourite pair of trackies finally got too many holes in them to be wearable in public ever again. So off I popped to the shops to purchase another pair and was pleasantly surprised when the exact same style was still being sold 5 years later. I bought myself 2 pairs since I loved them so much, took them home and cut the tags off, washed them before wearing, and put them in my wardrobe.
When it was next cool enough to wear them, I pulled them out and filled the pockets with the same keys, wallet, and phone. After driving with them on, this is when I realised they weren't quite the same pants. I lost my phone and my wallet numerous times whilst wearing these trackies, which is a problem I'd never had with the previous pair. Losing stuff is normal, you're thinking. Not for me. I have many unideal traits, but losing my possessions is not one of them.
I couldn't work out why I was having this problem until I compared the 2 pairs of pants. Yes, they are the same style (I compared the product code of the old trackies to the new trackies), however, the manufacturer (a top 3 global sporting brand) had now cheaped out on the pockets, both in the size of the pockets and the quality of the material. The pockets on the old ones were deeper and made out of the same cotton fleece material as the rest of the pants. The new ones had shallower, shorter pockets and were made out of a shiny polyester material - the root cause of my lost possessions.
I resigned myself to the fact that I now had two pairs of trackies worth $180 AUD that would sit unused in my wardrobe. That was until I randomly stumbled across PocketLock on Kickstarter. What have I got to lose, I thought, so I backed the campaign and received my PocketLocks.
PocketLock has uploaded a fantastic instruction video online that is at a relaxed pace, showing you step by step how to attach the PocketLocks, which made it very easy for me to follow. I attached the PocketLocks to the trackies, and even with the shiny, slippery polyester pocket material, they adhered without issue and have survived many cycles through the washing machine. They are not noticeable through the fabric, and the magnet stays tightly closed. I highly recommend PocketLock, it is an amazing product!
The pocket locks were very easy to attach on my polyester basketball sweatpants. You just put the pockets of the pants inside out and attach the pocket locks to each side of the pocket flap so they line up with each other. Now I can hold my wallet and car keys knowing they are secure and won't fall out anymore. I washed them with normal setting and cold water but did not put them in the dryer. They still work perfectly! Going to put them on my mesh shorts next.
I actually attached it to a Quikflip Hero Hoodie Classic's open pocket because the opening faces down when the jacket is worn. It was easy to attach and works great! Now I can have items in the pocket regardless if I'm wearing it in its backpack or hoodie configuration. I really think there's an opportunity for you to partner with them! Here's a link to the hoodie, for reference: https://www.quikflipapparel.com/collections/full-zip-hoodies/products/hero-hoodie-classic
Attachment process is really good - I did it on tracksuit pants that were notoriously dropping everything after sitting. After applying the stuff in the pocket stays in the pocket regardless of what I do.
